I commute back and forth from Reno to Tahoe City all year long. This car has been a dream to drive up and down Mt Rose on curvy fun roads. Surprising amount of room with four doors.

I have had this car since it was a year old. The day the warranty ran out every other month something needed fixed. I have contacted Mini international knows there is an issue with the rear control arms. They pull the wheel camber out of place so the top of your tire tilts inward. It eats tires like you drink water. Mini has not recognized the issues with the rear control arms. The computer that runs the car is extremely fussy. When its in top shape and running, they are fun to drive. Very responsive to handling and have some pick up in Sport monde. I would never recommend this car to anyone. It has so many issues that arise after 2-3 yrs it is not financially worth owning. Unless you love your dealership because you will see them frequently. Odd cup holders that block all the window and sport buttons. Lighted track that runs down the middle of the car which makes the rear seat only capable of seating 2 smaller folks. Fairly stiff shocks seats are odd when adjusting. Great heater though in the seats. Its not super on gas mileage and I use full synthetic since I have owned and maintain it very well.It eats 1-2 quarts of oil between every change. The all wheel drive isnt bad in snow, forget ice, rain and curves. It wheel hops at every crack, crevice and hole. Very rough ride. A LOT better value in the market today for an all wheel drive option small car. Goodluck! Please feel free if you can to contact me. I can give you list of things that have been fixed. Just spent 1600 a week ago and that was the second 1600 in 2018. Just spent 2100 in December in repairs-CONSTANT!

We have had the countryman All4 S Automatic for about 6,000 miles and we love it. This this the perfect car for our small family. Rear facing Infant seat fits nicely behind 6' tall front passengers. The trunk is small but can still fit our stroller and luggage for two adults and all the necessary gear for an infant with out folding down the rear seat. We have the bench seat, and each seat can fold down on its own which creates even more flexible loading options. Four adults can easily fit comfortably in the car, and five can fit for shorter road trips (2hours or less) Oh by the way, this car is a blast to drive. You will forget that you are driving a "crossover". In the All4 Cooper S platform, even the automatic is sporty. If you press the SPORT button, the steering gets even more tight and the throttle response shoots up. It truly feels like you are driving a car that is meant to race. There really is no other car on the market that can match its performance, practicality, AWD grip and fuel efficiency. The Acura RDX comes close in terms of performance and practicality but it is more expensive and has horrible fuel efficiency. The Jetta TDI sportwagen is great, but no AWD. The Cayenne will beat the Countryman performance wise I suppose but seriously, a Cayenne? It's easily twice the price of the All4 Countryman. Speaking of cost, the car is not cheap. It is not hard to price one out one for $35K. Creative BMW financing might make this car more affordable. We highly recommend the Countryman and hope that MINI brings to the states the Diesel engine for even more fuel efficiency.
